Payroll-Africa

Payroll that understands African statutory deductions

Payroll-Africa hooks into Frappe HRMS Salary Slip validation to automatically compute employee and employer statutory deductions for 11 African countries. No spreadsheets, no manual calculations. Each country has its own calculator class that reads current rates from settings, applies tax bands and caps, and populates deduction rows automatically. Change a rate in settings, and the next payroll run picks it up instantly.

Key capabilities

11 Country-Specific Calculators

Dedicated calculator classes for Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia, Malawi, DRC, Nigeria, Mozambique, and Angola. Each handles country-specific tax bands, tiered social security, health insurance, housing levies, training funds, and occupational risk contributions.

Automatic Deduction Computation

Every Salary Slip save and submit triggers automatic computation. The system resolves the employee's payroll country, loads the correct calculator, reads current statutory rates, and populates or updates deduction rows. Missing salary components are appended automatically.

33 Regulatory Reports

Generate P9A tax certificates, P10 monthly returns, NSSF and SHIF remittances, housing levy reports, and unified declarations — all formatted for each country's revenue authority and social security institution. Cross-country summary reports for consolidated compliance views.

Rate Change Tracking with Audit Trail

Update statutory rates and PAYE bands with effective dates in country-specific settings. An audit trail tracks every change. Recalculate all draft Salary Slips in a date range after rate updates with a single command.

Template Salary Structures

Pre-built salary structures per country with all statutory components wired in. Install creates income tax slabs, salary components, and template structures automatically. Use as-is or customize for your organization.

Standalone Calculation API

Compute deductions without creating a Salary Slip via REST API or Python. Useful for salary simulations, what-if analysis, and third-party integrations. Returns employee deductions, employer contributions, net pay, and cost to company.

Country Enable / Disable

Toggle individual countries on or off from global settings. Disabled countries hide their settings, reports, and salary components from the workspace and dropdowns. Calculator refuses to run for disabled countries.

Employer Cost Tracking

Track employer-only contributions separately from employee deductions. Generate employer contribution reports and cost-to-company summaries that include both sides of statutory obligations.

Print Format & Workspace
